Ashanti Shequoiya, also known by the name Ashanti was born on the 13th of October 1980 in Glen Cove New York United States. She is an American singer-songwriter and actor. Ashanti, a teenage singer-songwriter and actress from the United States had her name signed by Murder Inc. Records to make a record in 2002. In the same year she made an appearance in The Fat Joe's What's Luv? Also, she was featured in Fat Joe's track"What's the Luv?" When she had Foolish and What's Luv at Number One, she became the first woman to have two songs that were in the Billboard Hot 100 chart top ten of the United States. It was the first female artist who held both the top two spots on Billboard Hot 100 in America, with Foolish at number one and what's love at number 2.
